Peak. I just love Maomao and her shenanigans. I was kinda iffy about Jinshi in season 1, but I feel like season 2 made me warm up to him a lot more. The last few episodes were especially good Jinshi finally revealing the secret of his birth and saving Maomao from the fortress was so hype. I'M SO GLAD THAT SHISUI LIVED!!! I LOVE HER! Maomao <3.
From the promotional visual, it looked like a cute slice of life anime with the gimmick that they were hired killers. What really surprise me in the first few minutes was the unique art direction and animation. However, I was completely blindsided by the fact that they actually killed people in this show (AND THEY WEREN'T EVEN FACELESS BACKGROUND CHARACTERS). Normally the part about being killers is part of a GAG in these types of shows lol. This show is really not afraid to be a little dark. I ended up liking this show and the characters a lot more than I thought I would. I'm keeping up with the manga as well!
Gundam GQuuuuuuX, besides having one of the most ridiculous names in the entire season, was one of the
shows that I was looking forward to the most. I've only watched a few mecha anime before (Dishonorable
Mention: Valvrave the Liberator), but this is actually my first Gundam anime. Episode 2 especially makes
me really want to go back and watch the original Gundam shows, being a flashback and retelling of the
original Gundam (Alt Universe). The CGI fights look really good here, and GQuuuuuuX just has stunning
visual direction. The characters, new and returning, all look so good.
Visuals aside, I really wish this show had been a 2 cour show or perhaps even one of those shows with a
weird number of episodes like 16 or 18, because at times, it felt like the plot was in turbo mode. It
wasn't necessarily that bad, but since I had already really liked the show, it would have been nice to
get a little more than 12 episodes. The Clan Battles themselves were really interesting to me, but it
didn't really matter all that much by the end of the show - despite it taking up half the show. Even if
the show may have some issuses with the pacing of episodes (a lot of time being dedicated to the Clan
Battles and also to the flashbacks of the events from the original series), I still enjoyed the entire
package.
I really loved Machu as a protagonist! She's just pure goblin energy. And the conflict
between Nyaan and Machu was very enjoyable, seeing them both come to be at odds with each other. As far
as Shuji goes... I still don't really think much of Shuji as a character. He's more of a plot
convienince than anything. Though who cares about Shuji, CHALIA BULL was so cool. We get more
development from him than even the main characters lol. Waiter! Waiter! More CHALIA BULL please!
I
should go watch more Gundam series to cope with having no more episodes to watch.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a spinoff and prequel to the original My Hero Academia. Personally, I didn't really vibe with the original series, but I absolutely fell in love with this spinoff. As someone who has already completed the manga, I was really happt to see my favorite moments and characters get animated. I don't want to spoil too much. Just take this as a recomendation to watch this show!
