African violets are probably my favorite flower, as I just love their petals and the
variety of colors and shapes that they come in. They were some of the first plants that
I got back when I first started college, and I was rather successful with them at first.
However, I ended up killing the first one that I bought, and it all went down from
there. I would buy the specially bred ones from plant nurseries, and I would never have
the same amount of success with them as I had with my first violet. Flash forward to
today, I've had a lot of success with my latest violets. The violets seem to thrive in
this year's summer and humidity... unlike me.
The two pink flower ones were some
cheap $5 violets that I got from Lowes. The purple flower violet is one that I bought
from a plant sale for about $10 dollars. I'm quite happy with its leaf variegation and
flower color.
I planted these impatiens by seed sometime around April or May, and I was quite surprised by how big they grew over the summer. I kinda just sprinkled some seeds in a pot and prayed any of them would germinate. I'm gonna be honest... I didn't expect them to make it this far. Perhaps this is character growth.
I can't for the life of me remember where I got these begonias LMAO. Anyways... I've always liked Begonias. I really like how their leaves look, and the flowers are really pretty. I see them planted everywhere around where I live.
